Lessons learned
mistakes made,
and after much repetition,
lessons learned.
Once again I have given away the most fragile part of me,
held together with only tape and glue,
only for it to be kicked, and the tape RIPPED off.
It took many a time,
But i have learned my lesson.
I cannot get hurt,
my heart cannot be broken
but by me,
if it is not given away.
i now make a solemn vow,
to never again trust a man with my heart.
These men,
these creatures that live on bits of broken hearts,
they will never know my love.
And if this vow not kept,
i pray to god for my death,
for i would rather die than pursue this pain again.

Better. Much better! Even though I am a man, this is still powerful -
These men,
these creatures that live on bits of broken hearts,
amazing description, of course do not paint men with but a single brush.
Do you have a favorite author that inspires you to write?
lol. there are only a few brushes to use with men, at least from what ive seen lol :)
well. i like a lot of the authors here on Vox.. Fiona is AMAZING. she helps me out a lot and after speaking with her on here i usually have a couple ideas.. and same with LBeeze... and im in poetry club at school, we read our poems and listen to others and Chris's poems are AMAZING!! .. im not really "inspired" by much other than my own imagination though. when i have a lot going on i write about that but there are times when nothing is happening of interest.. so i use my imagination.. :) that can be good and bad so yeah. im glad you liked it :)
Fiona is incredible! She's even inspired me to read out loud. Her art is simply incredible, so much talent. I always look forward to her posts in my neighborhood. Good luck in your poetry club. Don't ever stop writing!
A little side note - I started seriously writing at about 11. When I left high school, I put my pen down. Ten years later I picked it back up. Don't let those ten years pass you by.
